Why are my chicken legs tasteless?

I'm very disappionted for my cooking today. I baked 6 chicken legs at around 360F for an hour and a half. I used Parsley, Rosemary, Thyme, and Sage. It turned out tasteless when it was done!



What happened?
Why are my chicken legs tasteless?
You over cooked them. 6 legs don't need to cook that long. Maybe a whole thick chicken or a whole pan of leg or thighs would take that long.. 6 legs probably could have cooked in only 35 to 40 min or maybe less @ 350..The seasonings sound good to me. Maybe a little salt, pepper %26amp; butter or margarine too. That Mrs. Dash is good it has all that in it. The spicey is really good, next time don't cook as long or just cook more chicken!
Reply:When I cook my chicken legs I season them with seasoning salt, pepper, garlic and thyme the night before. I bake them on 350 for about 45 minutes. I cover them for about the first 20 minutes then uncover them for the rest of the time. I also add a little white wine so that they don't dry out. You used some great herbs but I think you needed something else as well. Don't give up try it again. Just keep practicing. And baste the legs in the middle of cooking as well. Try chicken thighs. Those are more juicy and flavorful
Reply:When Im cooking up a batch of legs and thighs....I use heavier spices like cajun spices, onion powder, garlic powder....

Boil them up till almost done....then dip them in flour and the above mixture....Fry for a minute or two and get the skin crispy, the transfer to your baking dish in the oven till done.

Mine always turn out tasty....Ahhh just takes practice

You over cooked them.....they shoudl be done at a lower heat for a longer period
Reply:Next time cook them at 325 to 350 and only for about 1 hour and add some salt, pepper and paprika to them and add some water to the pan to make them nice and tender. Must have salt. The paprika will make a crust on the skin. You"ll do it next time. Try some fresh garlic in the liquid also.
Reply:Your seasoning weren't very... what is the word I am looking for... hmm, I guess I'd say "out there" or "different".. they all seem pretty bland.

Pop a packet of Sazon seasoning by Goya on those babies and you'll never complain again, that's a promise. Much love!
Reply:the best put your legs in ice over night, and next morning, put meat seasoning on them, and I rub some shake and bake seasoning on mine, (got different flav), and bake according to the box. So moist. Yum!!
Reply:Marinade your chicken in the spices %26amp; a little soy sauce overnight (in refrigerator)
Reply:Don't use fresh herbs on chicken.. they don't have much flavor. The best thing to do would be to use a marinade.
