Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme...what are they in Tagalog?
nena doesn't know but she'll gladly sing the song for you -----

Are you goin to scarborough fair? parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme

Remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine

Tell her to make me a cambric shirt, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme

Without no seams nor needlework, then shell be a true love of mine

Tell her to find me an acre of land, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme

Between the salt water and the sea strand, then shell be a true love of mine

Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme

And to gather it all in a bunch of heather, then shell be a true love of mine

Are you goin to scarborough fair? parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme

Remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine

nena is back. i googled and goodled but just couldn't find the tagalog words for your herbs. HOWEVER, i found you another herb - tumeric. In tagalog, it is "duyaw." is this a good substitute? lol
Reply:thanks, princess...luv ur name...nena wants to be a princess too. Report It
Reply:why not change your name to "princess nena" Report It
Reply:parleya for parsley, sago for sage, rosamaria for rosemary, oras for thyme...... hahahaha! I'm afraid there are no Tagalog terms for these herbs.
Reply:Good question, but I don't have an answer. I don't recall seeing or using these herbs back in P.I.
Reply:Those herbs are not native to the Philippines and I have never used any of them for Philippine recipies. Those herbs are common only to western style cooking. When there is no tagolog term for something here they use the english word for it or call it a "quan".
Reply:I really don't know of a single Pinoy recipe that calls for them, or if they are readily available there....I never say them. Mayhap I am wrong.
Reply:in tagalog they are,

parsili, sahe, mariarosas at sa ka taym.
