How do I pick my herbs...where do I pull them from?

I got a herb garden today that has Rosemary, Thyme, Chives and Dill. Do I pull the whole stem off or just the leaves?
How do I pick my herbs...where do I pull them from?
For the rosemary- pick off the leaves. don't take too many at a time because that will make your plant unhealthy.

For the thyme- pick only a few stems at a time. then use your fingers to pull the leaves up.(start at the top the pull them off the opposite way they grow.)

For the chives- I am not sure because my Garden doesn't have chives.

For the dill- you have to pick off the whole stem because there is flavor there. but once again don't pull off too many at a time.
Reply:YOU PICK the leaves but only take 6 or 7 from each plant if its unhealthy you shouldent pick them nurse it back to health like water it more then usual and give it a bit of sun if there healthy then your good to go
Reply:cut the stems, but not all of them at the same time
