Itchy flaky scalp and matted down greasy hair in mornings?

I can get my hair styled using a little gel and hairspray (white caucasion with naturally wavy hair that fuzzes easily and is thin). And, it looks okay for the most part all day, but it has been ITCHING BAD and flaking and after sleeping on it, it looks like someone hosed me down with a waterhose. Does this sound hormonal??? I've tried Nizoral, Clubex, Johnson's baby shampoo, YOU NAME IT!!! ! Even tried rosemary herbs. Are there any other natural or non natural remedies that work for the itch and flake and WHAT is causing the matted down wet look in the mornings??? I've tried a satin pillowcase - makes it worse.

Probably the gel and hairspray are responsible. Make sure you use a clarifying shampoo whichever brand.
Reply:A little gel and hairspray shouldn't be the problem,

but I hope you aren't putting the gel in dry hair.

Not only does it look bad, it can be hard on your hair.

If you are using a really cheap kind of gel, it could be why.

Try something different. It doesn't have to be expensive.

I would recommend Sami hairgel, I love it.

It doesn't make hair be/look greasy.

You could also be washing your hair too much...

Or even not enough.

If you go as long as you can without your hair looking bad,

and then wash it, your hair will get used to the oil being there.

Then when you wash it more often, it gets dry,

so try to wash your hair once a day and keep it that way.

I don't know, maybe you wash your hair in the morning,

so your hair is wet and ready for the gel.

If you leave the gel and hairspray in your hair all night,

and then wash it out in the morning,

then that is definitely the reason your hair is like this.

You shouldn't ever leave gel or hairspray in your hair

for long periods of time.

A day is fine, but never all night. VERY unhealthy.

Try a dandruff/moisturizing shampoo. I'm not saying you

have dandruff, but it may do wonders. Use it every other day,

and use your regular shampoo the days in between.

It is healthy to wash your hair once a day,

but it should be at night if possible.

Also, if you aren't, use a conditioner, or at least a 2-in-1.

I recommend using Garnier Fructis 2-in-1.

Give it a shot if you wish.

Good luck.
