How do I harvest my Herbs?

I have Jalepenos, Basil, Rosemary, Dill, and Lemon Thyme growing in my yard. My biggest question is where do I cut when using to ensure healthy growth? And does anyone know when its time to pick the jalepenos off the plant?



PS. If anyone knows the rule of thumb of cutting roses too, I'd appreciate it, thanks!
How do I harvest my Herbs?
Jalepenos are easy. They can be picked at about any stage but get hotter the longer you let them grom. Cut them right where the stem starts at the pepper. I like to pick the herbs slowly as I need them and there is no right or wrong way to pick them. I cut my roses back just about the last branch to get the most blooms.
