Hardiness

Rosemary is considered a hardy perennial in zones 8-10 and a tender perennial in zones 6-7. It can be grown in places where winter temperatures do not fall below 10° F. It can also be a container plant as will be discussed later.

I also live in zone 6 and it never has survived the winters for me. I think if I were you I would do it before the 1st killing frost.

It is usually treated as a annual in zone 6. You might dig some up and pot it for indoor use.

However it never goes below 15degrees fahrenheit.



It does well in pots and containers. It is an evergreen and folks round here use it for ornamental and culinary purposes.



Both the leaves and the flowers are edible. Plant in the spring



I believe zone 6 is a little too cold for year round use. So you should cut the plant now or bring it indoors.
Reply:I found out from another website you should cut if 45 days before the first frost. The plant should weather the winter as long as it doesn't below -10. so overtrimming to late in the season could stress it over winter. sorry i can't find the name of the website at this time.
Reply:I'm zone 7 and rosemary will not survive my winter.

You can repot it and bring it inside and find a sunny window to put it in and then put it back outside in spring.
